Mr. Joel

I was born in Coventry, United Kingdom and have lived there my entire life. I have a big family with two younger brothers and lots of cousins, and so have always been surrounded by children of all ages.

Last year I graduated from the University of Manchester and was lucky enough to get a job working at a summer school in Russia teaching children between the ages of 5 and 17. It was this opportunity that inspired me to want to work with children and to pass on my knowledge to the future generation. Watching one’s effort and plans come into fruition as children improve their English language skills gives such a satisfying feeling, that I understood from my year’s experience that I wanted to continue this work. When I saw the vacancy at OC, I immediately applied, feeling sure it would be a brilliant place to teach young minds.

I have always loved Russia and Russian culture. During University I completed a year abroad in Russia, living in St. Petersburg and Kazan, as well as travelling across Russia to get the full experience! Furthermore, I have a passion for travelling and languages, therefore studied both the French and Russian language in Manchester.

I love sports; football is a favourite of mine! I am also interested in architecture from across the world, and enjoy taking photographs of interesting and exciting places. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work at OC and look forward to meeting lots of children and helping them blossom into bilingual, kind and talented individuals!
