…Well, actually that’s not what we at OC call it, though the two Canadian brothers who originated it, chose to name their support organization ‘Me-to-We’!

We call it simply: “WE DAY”. This is the day we try to think of ourselves as part of a team, without which we would feel very much alone.

We dance in partners and in groups. We play co-operative games in which we must work together to ‘win’. We sing songs like: “The more we get together, together, together, The more we get together, the happier we’ll be! ‘Cause your friends are my friends, and my friends are your friends! The more we get together, the happier we’ll be!”

We create Friendship Quilts, and – BEST of all! – we cook together.

This year we made Stone Soup. …Like the story goes, we had little to put in, so we began with a stone, and then we added a vegetable here, and a vegetable there, and with generous ingredient donations and group effort, we made the most delicious soup, which we shared together, of course!
